How do I get my Port Authorisation Code?

What is a PAC Code?
A PAC Code or correctly speaking a PAC is needed when you want to keep your existing mobile number when switching networks. A PAC stands for Port Authorisation Code. You will need to get a PAC code from your current network provider if you wish to keep your existing number but change to a new network .
Can I keep my existing mobile number if I decide to move to another network?
Yes, you can use your existing number with a new network. This is done by ‘porting' your mobile phone number and you will need to gain a PAC code from your current service provider before you cancel your contract with them. They will either issue you it over the phone or send it in the post within 2 working days. You will need to give this code to your new service provider in order to use your existing number with them.
If you would like to change networks just follow these simple steps below:
1) Complete your existing contract term, or buy yourself out by contacting your service provider and paying the remaining line rental due to the end of the contract period. Check with your existing service provider if you are unsure of your contractual terms.
2) Once you have received your Port Authorization Code simply choose the deal that best suits your usage requirements and order online - during the order process you will be asked to enter your PAC code. 3) The process takes approximately 7 working days. Once this process is complete your existing SIM will no longer work and you will be given a new SIM card by your new service provider.
You cannot 'port' your number if you have chosen a new phone on your same network. Your current service provider will provide you with an upgrade.
You cannot 'port' your number if you have not completed your minimum contract term with your existing supplier. Check your existing terms and conditions with your current service provider to establish when you can change networks.
*An important point to bear in mind is that you should not cancel your contract with your existing service provider until they have provided you, free of charge, with a PAC code and you have passed this onto your new service provider. If you cancel your contract with your exisiting service provider before you have your PAC code then your new service provider may charge you a connection fee and you may not be able to tranfer your number across.
